Bingual ("we", "us") is an English‑learning app. This policy explains what
we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the
app needs to work.
Information we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google, we
receive your name, email address and profile picture to create and secure
your account.
- Learning data. Your progress, lesson and exercise
results, review schedule and in‑app preferences, so we can track your
learning and sync it across sessions.
- Microphone audio. During speaking and pronunciation
exercises the app records your voice and sends it to our servers to
generate pronunciation feedback. The microphone is used only while you are
doing a speaking exercise, never in the background.
- Device & usage data. Basic technical information
(app version, device type, crash and diagnostic events) and a push
notification token if you enable notifications.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: lessons, exercises, pronunciation feedback and
progress tracking.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send learning reminders and notifications (only if you allow them).
- To fix bugs, improve features and keep the service reliable.
Service providers we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share the minimum necessary with
providers that help run the app:
- Google — sign‑in and app infrastructure (Firebase).
- AI language provider — text you submit in exercises and
pronunciation audio are processed through our servers to generate feedback
and responses. Requests are proxied by our backend; the provider is not
given your account identity.
Data retention
We keep your account and learning data while your account is active. Audio
is processed to produce pronunciation feedback and is not kept longer than
needed for that purpose. When you delete your account we remove your personal
data as described below.
Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
See bingual.app/delete-account. Deletion removes
your profile and learning data from our systems.
Children
Bingual is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect data from them.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored on secured
servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take
reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last
updated" date above.
